Hire a kayak and explore Tennyson Inlet and other remote places in beautiful Pelorus Sound.

Our kayak base is in Elaine Bay on the French Pass road; 2 hours from Nelson and 2.5 hours from Picton. Elaine Bay has 25 houses, a camp ground but no shop.

Items you need to enjoy your sea kayaking trip:
warm clothing, raincoat / wind jacket, old footwear or jandals, camping and toilet gear, sleeping bag, food, insect repellent, sun screen, hat, camera.

Explore Pelorus provides:
Kayaks, life jackets, paddles, safety flares, maps, instruction, D.O.C. camp and hut passes available.
We have 7 double kayaks: 2 SeaBear, 3 Norski and 2 Southern Light. We have 2 single kayaks.

Optional Extras:
Tents, sleeping mats, cooking kits, fishing tackle, also available for hire. Camping and fishing instruction available on request.
Transport:
Passenger transport and kayak cartage is possible from Nelson, Havelock and Picton.

Rates:
Double kayak hire costs $40 per person/day in winter ( April - October )
$50 per person / day in summer.

Discounts are available to groups and for extended hire.

SUMMER SPECIAL Double Kayak freedom hire 3 days: $100 per person 5 days: $150 per person
